- 1 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. half and half
- 1/3 c. shortening, melted
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
- 2 eggs, beaten
Directions

1Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl, mixing well. Combine remaining ingredients, mixing well.

2Add to dry mixture, stirring until smooth. Pour into a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

3Bake at 350° for 55 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

4Cool loaf in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan.

5Serve warm or cool completely on wire rack.
