  • 2 c. cornmeal
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 8 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. soft shortening or Wesson oil or corn oil

Directions

    Mix dry ingredients.

    Add eggs, milk and shortening.

    Mix just until well blended.

    Make in greased pan at 450° for 35 minutes or until light brown and cornbread leaves sides of pan.

    (If using for dressing, make ahead of time and let cool.)
