- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Cut shortening into flour, 1/2 cup cornmeal, baking powder and salt until resembles crumbs.

2Stir in enough milk so dough cleans sides of bowl and makes a ball.

3Knead dough on lightly floured surface for 10 minutes.

4Roll to 1/2-inch thick.

5Cut out biscuits. Sprinkle extra cornmeal on cookie sheet.

6Place biscuits on cookie sheet; sprinkle more cornmeal on top.

7Bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes.
