Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 c. water
  • 1 c. cornmeal
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar

Directions

    Boil water in saucepan.

    Mix other ingredients and add to water.

    Cook until thick, stirring frequently on low heat (about 15 minutes).

    Pour into loaf pan and refrigerate overnight.

    In morning, cut into 1/2-inch slices and fry in butter until browned on both sides.

    Serve with maple syrup for breakfast.
