- 1 doz. crabs, clean and break bodies in half
- 1 c. flour (for roux)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 can tomato paste
- salt, pepper and red pepper to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped or garlic powder
Directions

1Add 1 cup flour in enough oil to brown for roux.

2Brown to a very dark color.

3Add onions, celery, bell pepper, garlic, tomato paste and season to taste.

4Add water while cooking (enough to make a gravy, about medium).

5Simmer for 30 minutes.

6Add crab bodies and simmer another 30 minutes.

7Serve over rice.
