"Cracker Jack" Caramel Popcorn

  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1 tsp. butter flavoring
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 6 qt. popped corn

Directions

    Combine all ingredients, except popped corn, into a medium pan. Bring to a boil; boil 5 minutes.

    Pour over popped corn in a large roasting pan.

    Bake at 225° for 45 minutes, stirring 2 or 3 times. Cool; break into small pieces as it cools.

    Yields 6 quarts.
