- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 (16 oz.) can whole cranberry sauce
- 1 1/2 c. quick rolled oats
- 1 tsp. shredded orange or lemon peel
- 3/4 c. melted butter or margarine
- 1/4 to 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1In large bowl, stir together flour, oats, brown sugar, peel and baking soda.

2Stir in melted margarine and mix thoroughly. Reserve 1 big cup of flour and oat mixture for topping.

3Place remaining mixture in an ungreased 12 x 7-inch or little larger pan.

4Press down firmly.

5Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.

6Cool slightly.

7Carefully spread cranberry sauce on baked crust.

8Stir nuts into remaining oat mixture and spread over cranberry sauce; pat down lightly.

9Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes more.

10Cut into bars when cool.
