Crawfish Pasta

  • 1 pound crawfish meat
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup onions diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt or season to taste
  • 1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon coarse black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/2 tablespoon chile powder
  • 2 tablespoons blonde roux (for thickening)
  • 8 oz heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese

Directions

    Melt butter in the skillet over a medium high heat

    Add onions and garlic and saute until onions are translucent.

    Add cayenne pepper, black pepper, paprika, salt, and chili powder and stir.

    Add crawfish tails and saute for about 8 minutes or until cooked.

    Add heavy cream and stir

    When the cream begins to boil, lower the heat and add the blonde roux.

    Simmer for another 10 minutes

    Turn off the stove and stir in the cheese until it is melted into the sauce

    Serve over pasta with bread
