  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup shortening

Directions

    Stir together dry ingredients; sift. Make a hole in the center of this and add the rest of the ingredients. Beat together with a spoon and mix well. Bake in loaf or layer pan, greased & floured, at 350° for 30 minutes, or until toothpick comes out dry when inserted. Frost as desired.
