   Sift together in an 8 x 8 1/2-inch pan the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.

   Make 3 holes.

   In the first hole, pour the oil.

   In the second hole, pour the vinegar.

   In the third hole, pour the vanilla.

   Pour 1 cup of cold water in pan and mix; don't beat.

   Preheat oven and bake for 20 minutes at 350°.

   Don't grease pan.
