Crazy Crust Cherry Pie

  • 1 c. self-rising flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1 (1 lb. 5 oz.) can cherry pie filling
  • 2/3 c. solid vegetable shortening
  • 1 egg

Directions

    In small mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar, water, shortening and egg.

    Blend well at lowest speed.

    Spread batter into a 9 or 10-inch pie pan (deep dish).

    Carefully spoon pie filling into center of batter.

    (Do not stir.) Bake at 425° for 35 to 40 minutes.
