Cream Cheese Cake

- 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
- 1/2 lb. (2 sticks) oleo
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsps. vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. or 8 oz. candied fruit (red and green show up best)
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans to be added to batter plus
- 1/4 to 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts to put in the bottom of the cake pan.
Directions

1Mix together cream cheese, oleo, sugar and vanilla.

2Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well each time.

3Sift 2 c. of flour with baking powder and gradually add to first mixture.

4Flour the fruit and nuts with the remaining 1/4 c. and fold into batter.

5Sprinkle bottom of pan with finely chopped nuts.

6Bake in a well greased and floured pan at 300-325° for 1 1/2 hours.

7(Start testing for doneness after the first hour.)

8Use tube or Bundt pan.
