- 1 c. softened butter
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- candied cherries
- pecan halves
Directions

1Cream butter and cream cheese together.

2Slowly add sugar, beating until fluffy.

3Beat in egg yolk.

4Add flour and vanilla and mix well.

5Chill dough at least 1 hour.

6Shape into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.

7Gently press a cherry half or pecan half into each cookie.

8Bake at 350° until bottom of cookies start to brown, 6 to 10 minutes.

9Do not overbake.
