Ingredients

  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. flour
  • 4 eggs, unbeaten

Directions

    Bring water, shortening and salt to a boil.

    Stir in flour and cook until dough forms a smooth ball and leaves sides of saucepan clean.

    Then remove from heat and cool slightly.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

    Drop by spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 450° for 10 minutes.

    Reduce heat to 400° and bake 25 minutes more.

    Cool.

    Slit and fill with sweetened whipped cream or pudding filling.
