Creamed Onions

  • 6 medium onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh parsley sprigs

Directions

    Saute onion in butter in a large skillet until tender. Remove onion from skillet, and set aside.

    Add flour to pan drippings, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in salt. Add onion, stirring gently. Garnish with parsley.
