- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
Directions

1Peel the turnips; cut 1/2-inch slices.

2Cover with cold water in a deep pot.

3Add salt; cook briskly for 30 minutes, or until tender.

4Drain the cooking water.

5Pour in the milk.

6Add the pepper; return to heat for 3 to 4 minutes, but do not allow to boil.
