- 6 to 8 ears fresh corn
- 3 strips bacon
- 2/3 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. flour
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Cut and scrape corn from cob (makes 3 cups).

2Cook bacon slowly until crisp; remove and reserve.

3Stir corn into hot bacon fat.

4Add water, salt and sugar; stir and cook for 5 minutes, uncovered.

5Stir flour into milk; mix until smooth.

6Add to corn and stir constantly until thickened.

7Add pepper and butter. Serve hot; garnish with reserved bacon.

8Yields 6 servings.
