Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp. oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 large green pepper, chopped
- 1 large can tomatoes
- 2 bay leaves
- several dashes hot sauce or cayenne pepper
- salt and pepper to taste
- chili powder to taste
- 2 stalks chopped celery
- 1 or 2 lb. shrimp (already cooked and cleaned)
Directions

1Heat oil in skillet (I use electric).

2Add garlic and onion. Cook until almost transparent, then add green pepper and cook until transparent.

3Add tomatoes, bay leaves, hot sauce or cayenne pepper, salt and pepper and chili powder.

4Simmer 30 to 40 minutes.

5About 20 minutes before serving, add chopped celery and cook until almost looses its crispness.

6Add shrimp.

7Simmer until shrimp has warmed.

8Serve over hot rice.
