- 1 c. milk, scalded
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 3 beaten eggs
Directions

1Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt.

2Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast and stir well.

3Add eggs, then flour.

4Mix to a smooth, soft dough.

5Knead lightly on a floured surface.

6Place dough in a greased bowl; cover with a wet cloth and let rise until at least doubled in bulk.

7Divide dough in thirds.

8Roll each third on lightly floured surface to a 10-inch circle.

9Brush with melted butter.

10Cut each circle into 8 to 12 wedge-shaped pieces.

11Roll each wedge, starting with the wide end and rolling to the point. Arrange on a greased baking sheet and brush with melted butter. Cover and let rise until light.

12Bake at 400° to 425° for 15 minutes or less.

13If desired, brush with a brown sugar and water glaze.
