- 2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1Place walnuts in 9-inch glass pie plate.

2Microwave at High 5 minutes, stirring halfway through until toasted; set aside.

3In 2-quart glass measuring cup with handle, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, butter and salt.

4Microwave at High 5 to 6 minutes, stirring well at least once until sugar dissolves.

5Microwave at High 4 1/2 to 7 minutes, stirring once after 2 minutes until mixture reaches 300°.

6Stir in baking soda; add toasted walnuts. Turn at once into buttered 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan.

7Spread thin.

8Let stand until cooled.

9Break into pieces.

10Makes 1 1/2 pounds.
