- 7 lb. cucumbers
- 2 c. pickling lime
- 12 c. sugar
- 2 qt. vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. whole cloves
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1 tsp. mixed whole spice
- 2 gal. water
Directions

1Slice cucumbers and cover with a solution of pickling lime and water.

2Let soak for 24 hours.

3Rinse well and cover with cold, clear water.

4Soak for 3 hours.

5Drain and cover with remaining mixture.

6Soak overnight.

7The next morning, boil pickles in the mixture for 35 minutes.

8Put in jars; these pickles will be nice and crisp.
