- 1 (2 1/2 lb.) frying chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. oil
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 inch oil for frying
- 2/3 c. water
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 3/4 ??? regular flour
Directions

1Beat together egg, water and 1/4 cup Crisco oil.

2Add sugar, salt and flour; mix until smooth.

3Dip chicken one piece at a time into batter.

4Fry for about 25 to 30 minutes in an uncovered skillet which contains 1/2 inch of oil, heated to 365° to 375°. Turn chicken often for even browning.
