  • 1 lb. red beans, soaked
  • 1 onion, sliced thin
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 lb. smoked sausage (mild, hot or Cajun)
  • 3 Tbsp. honey, brown sugar or dark Karo

Directions

    Slice sausage in thin diagonal pieces.

    Place all ingredients in crock-pot.

    Cover with water (about 1/2 inch above beans). Cook on high 1 hour.

    Turn heat to low and simmer for 4 to 6 hours or until beans are tender.

    Serve over hot, fluffy rice.
