Ingredients

  • 5 pounds Pork Butt
  • 1/2 teaspoons Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoons Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 bottle (18-21 Oz. Bottle) Any Brand BBQ Sauce, Honey Or Hickory
  • 1/2 bottles Water (Use The Barbecue Sauce Bottle To Measure)
  • 1/4 cups Apple Cider Vinegar

Directions

  1. 1
You will need at least a 5-quart slow cooker for this.
  2. 2
You may need to cut the roast in half if it is awkward in size and that is okay, but dont try to cut it in multiple pieces.
  3. 3
Mix all dry spices and rub all over the pork butt to season.
  4. 4
Put in the crock pot and add the bottle of bbq sauce, then fill the bottle halfway with water and add that along with the apple cider vinegar.
  5. 5
Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours.
  6. 6
Remove and cool for about an hour.
  7. 7
While cooling, put the crock pot with the juices in the refrigerator to cool, then remove and skim off the fat from the sauce.
  8. 8
Pull apart the pork butt with 2 forks to shred.
  9. 9
Add to the sauce, warm up and serve on hard rolls or wedges.
  10. 10
You can serve this with coleslaw either on the sandwiches or on the side.
