Crocked Ribs

  • 6 lb. well-trimmed short ribs
  • 3 Tbsp. liquid gravy seasoning
  • 1 lb. carrots chunks
  • 1 lb. small white onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/4 c. Minute tapioca
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme leaves
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 instant beef bouillon
  • 2 c. red wine
  • 1 c. water
  • peeled potatoes

Directions

    Brush short ribs with gravy seasoning and place in bottom of 5 1/2 quart crock-pot.

    Add carrots, onions, garlic, bay leaves and potatoes.

    Combine tapioca, pepper, thyme, salt and bouillon. Sprinkle mixture over short ribs.

    Pour wine and water over all and cover.

    Cook on high setting for 4 1/2 to 5 hours.

    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
