  • 1 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 3 1/3 c. sifted all-purpose flour (about)
  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast or 2 cakes compressed yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water*
  • 3/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 egg yolk

Directions

    Cream butter with 1/3 cup flour.

    Chill and roll out between 2 sheets of wax paper into an oblong 12 x 6 inches.
