- 1kg ripe tomatoes
- 3 garlic cloves, peeled: 2 finely chopped, 1 cut in half
- Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1 ciabatta loaf, cut diagonally into 1cm thick slices
- 24 fresh basil leaves, torn into small pieces
