Crowd-Pleasing Tomato Salsa

Ingredients
- 1 can 28 Oz. Whole Tomatoes
- 1 whole Medium Yellow Onion
- 1 whole Fresh Jalapeno, Or 6 Slices Pickled Jalapeno
- 1 clove Garlic
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoons Cumin
- 13 cups Fresh Cilantro
- 1 Tablespoon Lime Juice, Or About 1/2 One Lime

1There are two different schools of salsa: the smooth, and the chunky.

2The smooth is the easier method of the two if you have a blender handy.

3In that case, add all of the ingredients into the blender and pulse til desired consistency.

4And you are done!

5However, I have always enjoyed chunky salsa.

6It requires slightly more time than smooth, as I chop all of my ingredients by hand.

7But I think the result is more desirable!

8To make chunky salsa: with a knife (or with your hands!

9), chop tomatoes until they are in bite-sized pieces.

10Finely dice the onion and jalapeno (taking out the seeds and membrane decreases the heat), making sure to thoroughly wash your hands after handling the jalapeno.

11Mince the garlic, and use your knife to flatten the garlic, making it into a sort of paste, and add it to the mixture.

12Add the salt and the cumin.

13Chop the cilantro finely, and add to the mixture.

14Lastly, squeze in your lime juice, and stir it well!

15Store in the fridge for the flavors to marry.

16This recipe yields about 1 quart of salsa.
