  • 2 c. sifted cake flour
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 c. milk

Directions

    Rub flour, sugar and shortening (first 3) together until crumbly.

    Reserve 1/2 cup of crumbs to sprinkle over top of cake. To rest, add last 5 ingredients.

    Mix thoroughly.

    Spread in greased cake pan, sprinkle crumbs over the top and bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
