  • 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c. finely chopped apples
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Sift together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Add shortening, egg, apples and milk.

    Beat at medium speed for 3 minutes.

    Pour batter into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
