Crunchy Cabbage Salad

Ingredients

  • 4 c. shredded Chinese cabbage
  • 1/2 c. water chestnuts, sliced (5 oz. can)
  • 1/2 c. mushrooms, sliced (4 oz. can)
  • 1 Tbsp. onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 3/4 c. chow mein noodles

Directions

    In a large bowl, combine cabbage, chestnuts, mushrooms and onion.

    In small bowl, combine mayonnaise and soy sauce; pour over cabbage mixture.

    Toss lightly.

    Just before serving, add chow mein noodles and toss lightly again.

    Serve immediately.

    If desired, garnish with toasted almonds.
