- 4 c. young tender green beans
- 1 small onion, sliced into rings
- 3 cloves garlic or 3 Tbsp.
- 3 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. sugar or 1 pkg. Equal
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
Directions

1In frying pan, bring 1-inch of water to a boil.

2Add green beans, cover and reduce heat.

3Cook 8 minutes.

4Drain and put into ice water 5 minutes.

5Drain.

6Saute onion and garlic in oil until tender, stirring constantly.

7Put beans back into pan and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.

8Add 2 tablespoons water, sugar and salt.

9Cook 2 minutes and serve.
