- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. cake flour
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. lemon
Directions

1Let eggs reach room temperature.

2Sift flour.

3Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.

4Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each one.

5Add 1/2 of flour, mixing well. Add the other 1/2 of flour, vanilla and lemon flavoring.

6Mix well.

7Batter will be stiff.

8Pour into a greased and floured tube or Bundt pan.

9Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

10Top will crack and will be crunchy.

11May be iced or glazed.
