- 3/4 c. butter or margarine (1 1/2 sticks)
- 2 c. flour (unsifted)
- 6 to 7 Tbsp. cold water
Directions

1In a large bowl, with pastry blender or two knives used in a scissor-like fashion, cut butter into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

2Sprinkle on cold water, a tablespoon at a time, mixing lightly with a fork after each addition, until pastry holds together.

3Divide dough in half, shape each into a flat ball.

4Wrap each in plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour or longer.
