Cherry Pie Royale

Ingredients

  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cherry gelatin
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 2 c. pitted tart cherries
  • 1 baked 9-inch pie shell
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding

Directions

    Combine gelatin and sugar; add boiling water and stir until gelatin is dissolved.

    Drain cherries and reserve 3/4 cup juice. Add juice to gelatin mixture; chill until slightly thickened. Stir in cherries and pour into cooled pie shell.

    Refrigerate for 20 minutes.

    Blend milk and sour cream in mixing bowl; add vanilla pudding.

    Beat with rotary beater until well blended, about 1 minute.

    Spread over cherries; chill at least 2 hours before serving.
