  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 2 c. four
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. pecans, finely chopped
  • 1/3 c. confectioners sugar
  • 2 tsp. ice water

Directions

    Cream the butter until fluffy.

    Sift in the flour and sugar. Stir in the vanilla and ice water and last of all, the chopped pecans.

    Make 2 rolls; wrap in buttered foil and freeze for 2 hours.

    Slice off thin slices of dough.

    Shape in an oval roll, like a cocoon and bake in a slow oven at 250° until lightly browned.

    After they cool, roll in confectioners sugar and store in airtight container.
