Cucumber-Basil Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 sprigs basil
  • 4 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/2 cup cucumber diced

    In a small saucepan combine the water and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Give the pan a quick stir to make sure the sugar has dissolved and remove from heat.

    Add in sprigs of basil, lime juice, and cucumber. Let steep for 15 to 20 minutes, then pour through a strainer to remove all solids. Simple syrup may be stored for 2-3 weeks in the refrigerator.
