- 1 German chocolate cake mix
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 c. oleo, melted
- 1 c. pecans
- 1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
Directions

1Combine cake mix, oleo and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.

2Press 1/2 mixture in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.

3Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.

4Remove from oven.

5Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips over baked crust.

6Melt caramels with remaining 1/3 cup of evaporated milk in a double boiler.

7Spread caramel mixture over chocolate chips and nuts.

8Press remainder of cake over this and bake at 350° for 20 minutes more.

9Cool slightly and refrigerate.
