- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. currants
- 1/3 to 1/2 c. milk
Directions

1Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

2Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.

3Stir in currants.

4Gradually add enough milk to the mixture to form a soft dough, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead lightly, 4 or 5 times.

5Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter.

6Place on lightly greased baking sheets.

7Bake at 450° for 8 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.

8Serve warm. Makes 2 dozen.
