- 1 qt. (4 c.) milk, scalded
- 2 c. day old bread cubes
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1/2 c. raisins, or more (optional)
Directions

1Set oven to 325°.

2Pour milk over bread cubes.

3Add salt and sugar.

4Beat eggs; add with butter and vanilla to mixture.

5Mix well after adding raisins.

6Pour into a 1 1/2-quart greased casserole.

7Set dish in a pan; pour hot water to within 1-inch of top of casserole.

8Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
