- 2 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. butter flavored Crisco
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. white vinegar
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. yellow corn meal
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. heavy cream
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease an 8-inch square pan with butter flavor Crisco.

3Put greased pan in oven and let it get hot while you mix the batter.

4Melt Crisco; mix with eggs until well blended. Add sugar, salt, milk and vinegar and beat well.

5Mix in flour, cornmeal, baking powder and soda; mix just until the batter is smooth and no lumps appear.

6Pour batter into heated dish.

7Pour cream into center of batter; do not stir.

8Bake for 1 hour or until lightly brown.
