- 1 cup margarine or 1 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 3 1/2 cups sifted flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions

1Cream margarine, sugar and vanilla.

2Add eggs.

3Sift dry ingredients together.

4Add to creamed.

5Chill 3 to 4 hours.

6I always leave over night and it is a lot easier to roll.

7On well floured surface roll 1/4-inch thick (I roll mine a little bit thicker-it makes nice puffy cookies).

8Use flour for rolling pin and cutters.

9Cut to desired shapes.

10Bake at 375° for 6-8 minutes depending on thickness of cookies.
