- 4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 lb. butter or margarine
- 1 c. warm milk
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. nuts
- maraschino cherries
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in the warm milk.

2Separate egg yolks and save the egg whites in a separate bowl.

3Beat the yolks slightly and add to the milk mixture.

4Mix dry ingredients and cut in the butter with a pastry blender.

5Add milk mixture and combine well. Chill the dough.

6Beat egg whites and add 3/4 cup sugar slowly as the whites are beaten.

7Divide chilled dough into 4 pieces.

8Roll dough thin on a floured board.

9Spread with the egg white mixture. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and sliced maraschino cherries.

10Roll like for a jelly roll.

11Place on a greased cookie sheet.

12Let rise for about 30 minutes in a warm place.

13Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes.

14Drizzle a thin sugar frosting if desired.
