- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 3 eggs
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons water over mixture.

3Round into ball, divide in half.

4On ungreased baking sheet, pat each half into strips (12 x 13-inches).

5Strips should be about 3-inches apart. Heat 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup water to rolling boil in medium saucepan.

6Remove from heat and quickly stir in almond extract and 1 cup flour.

7Stir vigorously over low heat until the mixture forms a ball, about 1 minute.

8Remove from heat.

9Beat in eggs, all at once, until smooth and glossy.

10Divide in half, spread each half evenly over strips.

11Bake 45 to 60 minutes or until topping is crisp and brown.

12Topping will shrink and fall forming the custardy top of the puff.

13Frost with Confectioners Sugar Glaze and sprinkle with nuts.
