  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/3 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. almond flavoring (optional)

Directions

    Mix butter and water and bring to a boil.

    Remove from heat and add flavoring.

    Stir in flour immediately to prevent lumping. When smooth and thick, add eggs, one at a time.

    Beat until smooth.

    Divide in half and spread evenly over each piece of pastry.

    Bake about 50 to 60 minutes, until topping is crisp and brown, at 350°.

    Frost when cool.
