- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 tbsp. water
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. water
- 1 tsp. almond flavoring
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 3 eggs
Directions

1Heat oven to 350.

2Cut first 1/2 cup butter into first cup of flour.

3Sprinkle with water and mix with fork.

4Round into ball and divide in half.

5Pat into 2 long strips 12x3 inches, 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.

6Mix second 1/2 cup butter and water; bring to rolling boil; add almond and remove from heat. Stir in second cup of flour and keep from lumping.

7wWen smooth and thick, add 1 egg at a time, beating until smooth.

8Spread evenly over each pastry.

9Bake 60 minutes or until topping is crisp and nicely browned.

10Frost with powdered sugar icing and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
