  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 1 egg
  • preserves
  • apricot
  • chopped nuts

Directions

    Sift first 4 ingredients.

    Blend in shortening until fine and crumbly.

    Add 1 beaten egg.

    Form into balls (approximately 1 inch); press center and up and around small (1 5/8 inch) muffin tins.

    Fill with 1/2 teaspoon preserves.

    Top with finely chopped nuts.

    Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
