- 1 (7 1/2 oz.) pitted dates
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. boiling water
- 2 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. nuts, chopped
Directions

1Cut dates in small pieces.

2Fix them first and set aside while mixing other ingredients.

3Mix together thoroughly flour, salt, baking powder, soda, egg, vanilla and nuts.

4Then add date mixture.

5Put in greased and floured loaf pan.

6Bake in slow oven at 300° for 3/4 to 1 hour.
