- 1 c. dates, chopped
- 1 c. raisins
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. boiling water
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. walnuts, chopped
- dash of salt
Directions

1Mix dates, raisins and baking soda in boiling water.

2Set aside to cool.

3Beat the eggs and sugar together in a bowl.

4Add the date mixture, flour, walnuts and salt.

5Mix well.

6Grease 4 vegetable cans (1 pound size).

7Half fill the cans with batter. The batter will rise over cans while baking.

8Wrap in foil.

9Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
