- 3 egg whites
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 3/4 c. xxxx sugar
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 2 c. broken pecan meats
- 1 c. chopped dates
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Add salt to egg whites.

2Beat to a stiff foam. Add sugar, sifted with flour, one tablespoon at a time.

3Continue beating until dry and stiff. Fold in nut meats and dates.

4Add vanilla. Drop from teaspoon on aluminum foil or unwaxed paper, 1/2 teaspoon in rounds. Bake in slow oven at 300° for 25 minutes. Turn over aluminum foil and cool.

5Peel off. Store in tin box.

6Yields over 2 dozen.
